Internationals
In speaking of those who live in a culture that is foreign to them, Scripture says, “The Lord watches over the alien” (Psalm 146:9). Tens of thousands of internationals live in St. Louis, graduate and post-doctoral students from Asia and Africa who live in the Central Corridor as well as the refugees and migrants who live in South City and beyond. Christianity is no longer a western phenomenon (as if it ever were). The face of Christianity today is global and diverse, not Anglo.
As you enter the sanctuary at Memorial, you will notice flags from many nations hanging above you in the balcony. Our commitment is to make a home for all at Memorial, that we might come to display the diversity of global Christianity. People at Memorial come from many parts of the world—China, Taiwan, Singapore, India and parts of Europe and Africa. One Friday night a month, we host a dinner with ISI (International Students, Inc) in which men and women from around the globe gather for dinner at the church.
If you have moved to St. Louis from another culture and would like to meet people and develop friendships through the church, please contact the church office 314.721.0943.
